IN THE SWIM: It was an Olympic gold medal reunion by the rooftop pool of the Hotel Americano on Wednesday when Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte and Conor Dwyer hit the Details and Hugo Boss party, which celebrated Phelps’ cover turn on the magazine’s August issue. The trio was part of the winning 4 x 200 meter freestyle relay team in London. Phelps, who flew in that day from Baltimore for the event and flew back on Thursday, gave Lochte some ribbing about the latter’s omnipresence at New York Fashion Week. While Lochte has told just about every media outlet imaginable that he plans to launch a fashion line, Phelps’ plans are more up in the air now that he’s retired from swimming. “I have no idea — relax and have fun and hang with friends,” he said of his latest chapter in life.
Having posed for a Louis Vuitton ad, Phelps dropped the brand name when asked about his personal style, as well as Hugo Boss, which dressed him for the evening. “Louis is something that’s always fit for me. And Tom Ford and Hugo Boss — they fit my body and my personality so I stick with that,” he explained. Also at the party were Joe and Nick Jonas, Lance Bass and, inexplicably, Paula Abdul, who was not on the guest list but found her way up to the crowded bash.
