J. McLaughlin Names Chief Marketing Officer

For the last five years, Patricia Doherty has been an independent consultant for fashion, luxury and media clients.

FROM BRITISH TO AMERICAN: Patricia Doherty has joined J. McLaughlin as chief marketing officer, a new position at the sportswear and accessories retailer known for classic American styles and vivid colors and prints.

Doherty will be responsible for defining strategy and executing initiatives across all channels of distribution and all marketing disciplines. She will report to chief executive officer Steven Siegler and work closely with the brand’s cofounders, Jay and Kevin McLaughlin.

For five years, Doherty has been an independent consultant for fashion, luxury and media clients, including J. McLaughlin. From 1999 to 2007, she was Burberry’s senior vice president of marketing, working closely with then-ceo Rose Marie Bravo. Earlier, she held marketing jobs at Saks Fifth Avenue, J. Crew Group and Abercrombie & Fitch.
