J. Mendel Opens in Seoul

The brand is opening two shop-in-shops in South Korea, marking its first retail foray in Asia.

KOREA BOUND: J. Mendel is opening two shop-in-shops in Seoul, marking its first retail foray in Asia. The brand unveiled its first boutique Aug. 29 at Shinsegae’s main store in Jung-Gu and will open this Friday its second store at the Korean department store’s Gangnam location. The two stores are 800 square feet and 500 square feet in size respectively.

“Korea is one of the strongest leaders in the Asian market in terms of style, celebrity and culture,” said Marc Durie, president and ceo of J. Mendel. “Moreover, it is one of the most important fur markets in the world, making it a natural first step in developing J. Mendel’s retail presence in Asia.”
