JOCKEY’S POSITION: Jockey International Inc., best known for underwear, is broadening the sportswear side of its offering through a licensing deal with Sportiqe.
The collection of Jockey-logo men’s and women’s cotton T-shirts, tanks and hooded sweatshirts will be designed, manufactured and sold by Sportiqe, and is being introduced at this week’s Project NYC trade show. Along with the logo, the slogan “There Is Only One” appears on the garments, priced from $30 to $70. Fred Segal and Society Men are among the specialty stores that will sell the line. It will also be available at sportiqe.com.

“We wanted to create a line for Jockey that’s cool, exciting and fun that consumers can wear every day,” said Jason Franklin, cofounder and principal of Sportiqe, which has previously partnered with the NBA, ESPN, McDonald’s, Dave Matthews Band and O.A.R. on products. “This partnership with Sportiqe creates a broader platform for Jockey, taking the brand to a younger consumer in a fashionable, relevant way,” said Jockey chief marketing officer Dustin Cohn.
