AWAY FROM THE CATWALK: Two familiar names on the London men’s wear calendar won’t be staging an on-schedule show or presentation at the showcase that kicks off today and runs through Monday. Jonathan Saunders plans to show his collection in private one-on-one appointments this season, “due to time commitments and the requirements for pre-fall and fall women’s collections.” The designer told WWD he is grateful to the British Fashion Council for its “ongoing support and collaboration.” Richard Nicoll, meanwhile, has put his men’s wear collection on ice, in a bid to focus on other areas of the business, according to a spokeswoman. As reported, Christopher Kane who has done one-on-one appointments during London Collections: Men in the past, will be showing his collection by appointment in Paris this season.
