Judith Ripka's Dorsay Ring

Christina Caruso has been named creative director for the Judith Ripka brands.

Caruso will collaborate with chief designer Judith Ripka on all Judith Ripka labels and future extensions of the brand. She will also appear on QVC as the on-air presenter of the brand’s exclusive collection for the network.

Ripka said, “Christina’s entrepreneurial background resonated with me and the way in which I started my business. Her past work and her passion for jewelry design made her the perfect fit for this position.”

Caruso said that Ripka inspired her as an entrepreneur “from very early in my career. She is a legend in jewelry design, whose work I have admired for so long.”

Caruso has 15 years experience in fashion accessories and jewelry design. She also teaches accessories design at the Fashion Institute of Technology and The New School’s Parsons School of Design.

Xcel Brands Inc. acquired the Judith Ripka brand in April 2014 in a cash and promissory notes transaction valued at $22 million.

Robert W. D’Loren, Xcel’s chairman and chief executive officer, said, “Christina will be a huge asset for both our QVC business and the future brand projects. Her natural design sensibility and taste level echoes what Judith has created over her 38-year history in jewelry design.”
