CHANGE OF PACE: Model and socialite Julia Restoin Roitfeld will step behind the cameras as the creative director of jewelry house Didier Dubot. Her first designs for the label will be exclusively released at Colette on Monday, at the start of Paris Couture Week.
The initial run includes stackable rings, cuffs and hair pieces, priced from $500 to $23,000. A fuller fledged offering will be released during New York Fashion Week, where promotional, “provocative” imagery shot by Sante D’Orazio will also be unveiled.
“The main inspiration was my grandmother’s ring that I have very fond memories of from my childhood. I love details, little tiny things, delicate and feminine…I wanted to experiment and create unique shapes and intricate ensembles by piecing together a puzzle of tiny precious stones. Also the creative pairing of different rings and bracelets – stacking – is the key statement of the entire collection,” Roitfeld told WWD of her designs.
