Elson’s, which launches on Wednesday, will be featured alongside looks from Marni’s fall 2016 collection.
In the film, Elson donned looks from the fall line designed by Consuelo Castiglioni including a belted wool overcoat and a blue printed dress.
Born and raised in Manchester, Elson is the 13th woman heading the series. She has fronted advertising campaigns for Burberry, Lanvin and Yves Saint Laurent and has modeled on the runway for Marc Jacobs, Prada and Versace. Elson is currently working on her second album, due out later this year.
“Real beauty is a real woman with life experience,” Elson said. “With passion and that shows on person’s face far much more than the sort of fashion standard of beauty. Fashion is an expression the way music is an expression. It comes from a very visceral and very real part of my soul. It’s raw, in a way. For me, it’s moments in life that inspire me. The good ones, the bad ones, the strange ones and the ones that have nothing to do with me. I’m always a bit on the outside looking in.”
“Marni is counter-culture in a way,” she added. “Their prints, their silhouettes. They don’t seemed to be swayed by what’s happening in pop culture. I think that’s interesting.”
Previous women featured in the e-tailer’s series include Irene Kim, Elisa Sednaoui Dellal, Liv Tyler, Carine Roitfeld, Alexa Chung, Victoria Beckham, Diane Kruger, Brooke Shields and Clémence Poésy.
