CARTOON NETWORK: What’s playing at the Karl Lagerfeld Cineplex? Take your pick: “Fifty Shades of Karl,” “King Karl,” “Karl Bond” or maybe “Karl Alone,” the latter co-starring his pet cat Choupette. Tiffany Cooper whipped up all those faux movie posters and unveiled them at the Karl boutique on Boulevard Saint-Germain in Paris Thursday night.
The illustrator, who has created a capsule collection for Karl boutiques debuting in April, is also working on a comic book about Lagerfeld, with the 170-page tome due out in September. Cooper enthused that the designer is open minded about the way he is depicted, so she’s already drawn him waterskiing, in a Jacuzzi with Choupette and burning up the dance floor in a discotheque.
Actress Emily Ratajkowski, who got her break in Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” video, knows a thing or two about the latter. She just wrapped “We Are Your Friends,” her first film in a lead role opposite Zac Efron and Wes Bentley.
“It’s a coming of age drama, not unlike ‘Saturday Night Fever,’” she explained, describing her character, Sophie, as a “cool girl” with a lot of style caught in a love triangle. She let slip her next project is the IFC television show “The Spoils Before Dying” opposite Kristen Wiig.
Models Audrey Marnay, Erin O’Connor, Sasha Luss and Lindsey Wixson also attended. Wixson said doing photos is a breeze because “He knows what he wants.”
