KARL CLUB: Photographers and smartphone-wielding party guests swarmed around Karl Lagerfeld as he arrived at Paris’ Palais Brongniart, the former seat of the French Stock Exchange, on Tuesday night. The occasion was the launch of a new Karl Lagerfeld fragrance masterbrand, and the designer made a quick tour of the vast locale fitted out with a disco ball, lounge seating and large screens showcasing emoticons created especially for the launch, including one representing Lagerfeld’s beloved cat, Choupette.

French actress Ana Girardot was among the revelers. She’s taken to the stage for the first time as Juliette in the Théâtre de la Porte Saint-Martin’s rendition of “Romeo and Juliette.” Girardot is also in a movie coming out soon called “Paradise Lost,” which counts Josh Hutcherson, Benicio Del Toro and Brady Corbet among the cast.

French actor Andy Gillet is to appear in two feature films due for release in 2014. One is by American director Benjamin Crotty, which is about people married to GIs waiting for their partners. The other is a Joseph Morder movie. “We are [acting] in front of big, big paintings,” he said. “We are just two actors playing with drawing and all that. The aesthetic of this film is very amazing.”

Lou Lesage, Vahina Giocante and Caroline de Maigret also attended the party.
