Karl Lagerfeld to Open First Turkish Store

The Istanbul boutique will be among several to open for the brand in Turkey this year.

EASTERN PROMISE: The Karl Lagerfeld brand is to open its first women’s wear and accessories store in Turkey this month. The 860-square-foot boutique, in Istanbul’s Nisantasi neighborhood, will open its doors on Jan. 23.

It is to be the first of several locations for the brand to open in Turkey this year and follows the 2013 inaugurations of concept stores in cities including Paris, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Berlin, Munich, Shanghai and Beijing.

The store, operated in partnership with Turkish luxury brand distributor Demsa Group, is situated in the courtyard of multibrand concept store Brandroom, also operated by Demsa, which manages labels like Harvey Nichols, Tom Ford and Lanvin in Turkey.

The modernist black-and-white space, with mirrors and walls of light, will have digital features like iPads and photobooths in its fitting rooms.

It is to offer the brand’s leather goods, watches, eyewear and scarves alongside ready-to-wear and footwear collections.
