APARTMENT LIVING: “I’m going to tell you my fashion secret: I keep a sweater in my purse,” Salma Hayek said on Wednesday night in Paris, as she and her husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, chief executive at Kering, hosted a dinner party at the home of pastry chef extraordinaire Pierre Hermé.

Sensing skepticism, she unclipped her small Bottega Veneta handbag, plucked out a fluff of black cashmere and tugged a small Gucci shrug over her bare arms. “They don’t make it anymore,” she sighed. “It never wrinkles, I don’t know why?”

Hayek said she just wrapped a physically grueling summer of shooting for the thriller “Everly” in Belgrade, Serbia. She plays woman who must fend off assassins while holed up in her apartment. (Salma spoiler alert: “I kill them all…”)

Lapo Elkann and a raft of European and American retailers also stopped by the come-and-go party. Waiters circled with trays of tantalizing mouthfuls, both sweet and salty, prepared nearby in the open kitchen.
