BURLINGTON BOW: Kilian has become the latest luxury fragrance brand to open a unit in London’s Burlington Arcade, joining the likes of Chanel, Roja Dove, Frédéric Malle and longtime resident Penhaligon’s.
The unit is perfumer Kilian Hennessy’s first stand-alone boutique in London. It spans 323 square feet, and carries the full range of fragrances, the new home line, and clutch bags.
The interiors are black-and-white Art Deco, with furniture designed by Chahan Minassian. Early next year the store will add a further floor that will feature a private salon and a gallery showcasing products including the scented jewelry collection.
To mark the launch, the perfumer has created a new fragrance, Royal Leather by Kilian, which is part of a series of perfumes that are sold exclusively in the perfumer’s boutiques. The scent features hawthorne and black tea, heliotrope flower and leather, oud and patchouli. The price range is from 195 pounds, or $294 at current exchange, for a 50-ml fragrance to 3,100 pounds, or $4,677, for scented earrings.
The Burlington Arcade boutique will also offer a bespoke service.
Launched in 2007, the brand currently has five boutiques in cities including New York, Paris and Moscow, as well as spaces at stores including Harrods and Harvey Nichols in London.
