Kitsuné Hosts Art Exhibition in Tokyo

The store is displaying and auctioning a series of pieces by the graffiti artist André Saraiva.

ARTISTIC ENDEAVORS: Maison Kitsuné’s Tokyo store is hosting an exhibition of specially created artworks by the graffiti artist André Saraiva, a longtime friend and collaborator of the brand. Saraiva has created ten original canvases, each of which will be on display at the store for one month before being offered for sale for 1.9 million yen, or over $19,000. The theme of the artworks is a “dream concert” or “the most fabulous gig you would ever see” according to Gildas Loaëc, co-founder of Kitsuné. Each painting is modeled after a retro concert poster, but with the names of such big-name artists as Kanye West, Jay Z, Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel and The Clash. In addition to the original canvases, a limited number of signed poster prints are also available, as well as fashion items such as t-shirts, hooded sweatshirts and tote bags.
