Karl Lagerfeld to Comment on Queen’s Jubilee

Designer agrees to participate in live broadcast on France 2 television in June.

THE KING’S SPEECH?: Fashion kingpin Karl Lagerfeld promises to lend a German accent — and sharp style commentary — to the very English celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s 60th anniversary celebrations. The designer has agreed to provide live commentary on France 2 television on June 3, in the midst of the Diamond Jubilee central weekend. Journalist and news reader Marie Drucker and journalist Stéphane Bern are slated to join Lagerfeld for the broadcast.

France 2 pulled in some 5 million viewers last year when Lagerfeld participated in a live broadcast of the royal wedding of Prince William to Catherine Middleton, now known as the Duchess of Cambridge.
