Levi Palmer of Palmer/Harding Drops Into Dallas

DROPPING INTO DALLAS: Levi Palmer, the Texan half of Palmer/Harding, brought his fall collection and plenty of enthusiasm to Betty Reiter in Dallas for the London brand’s first trunk show. Palmer hails from the small town of Belton, Tex., and launched his fashion education and career in Dallas.“I’m just here to visit family and talk to my old high school and El Centro to give inspiration to the kids,” he said. “It’s important to give back to the community that raised you.”

In turn, Palmer got something to bring back to Britain — 21 special orders. “We had a very strong reaction to it,” said store owner Betty Reiter. “The shirts are comfortable and something different, and everybody liked the chartreuse mixed with white and gray. It felt very fresh, easy and fashionable without being totally crazy.”

Most of the brand’s 28 accounts are in the U.S., which makes most trunk shows prohibitively expensive for the two-year-old company, he explained. “I’ll be back if she’ll have me,” Palmer said.

“He can come back whenever he wants,” Reiter affirmed, joking, “He’s been very well behaved so far.”
