LOIS LANE LOHAN: Chanel’s Brompton Road boutique, in London’s South Kensington, was the target of a smash-and-grab raid early Monday morning, and one of the first to report the incident was actress Lindsay Lohan.
A car was reported to have driven through the boutique’s storefront windows just before 4 a.m., allowing the suspects to gain entry. Although the value of the stolen goods could not be confirmed, it appears the majority of the handbags on display at the boutique were stolen.
Lohan, who is now a resident of the British capital, broke the news by posting an image of the crime scene on her Instagram account.
“Say a prayer, someone went though the window. I hope they are OK. I mean I love my #Chanel but this person meant business,” wrote the actress-turned-reporter.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said the burglary was under investigation. “No arrests have been made and inquiries continue,” he said.
Chanel declined comment.
A similar incident took place in the area last November. Four thieves drove a black Mercedes into Gucci’s London flagship, stealing over 40 “Dionysus” bags.
