BRIGHT YOUNG THINGS: For the first time, London College of Fashion, part of University of the Arts London, has split its MA catwalk show into two parts, and created standalone platforms for its men’s wear and women’s wear students.
Twelve women’s wear students showed their collections on the eve of London Fashion Week at the Wallace Collection, with the strongest lineups coming from Yutong Jiang, Miao Ho, Elly Choi, Scottacus Anthony, Shinhye Kim and Sisi Tang, who played with bright color and volume.
Among the standout pieces were Jiang’s pink A-line dresses with sporty red ribbed knit tops, and Anthony’s dramatic military-style coats done in bright orange or red, with gold military braiding and furry adornments made to resemble medals. Kim’s denim shearling coats, and Tang’s giant teal-colored fur cuffs also brightened up the runway.
The MA men’s wear show took place last month, coinciding with London Collections: Men. Both shows were styled by Anders Sølvsten Thomsen.
