BLAZING A TRAIL: The Centre for Fashion Enterprise has revealed the six latest labels to join its New Fashion Pioneer program, an initiative that offers business and practical support to emerging talent.
Launched in 2003, the CFE has supported designers including Erdem, Peter Pilotto, Mary Katrantzou, Marques’Almeida, Thomas Tait and Craig Green. It is partly financed by the European Regional Development Fund of the European Union.
“The selection panel was looking for both talent and reality,” said Wendy Malem, director of the Centre for Fashion Enterprise. “Not only does this new crop of designers represent a broader view of what design-led fashion can be, but also a collection of emerging designer businesses that will be forging new and relevant markets.
“The CFE will provide them with hands-on, professional advice and experienced coaching from our team of experts in order to start planning ahead and really defining their proposition.”
