Lou Dalton Launches Women’s Shirts

It marks the London men's designer's first move into women's wear.

LOU ATTITUDE: Lou Dalton, the London-based men’s wear designer, is tipping her hat to the women’s market for fall 2014. Dalton, who is known for her clean and classic silhouettes, has recast four of her men’s shirts for women, and they will be selling at The Showroom Next Door in Paris through March 5. The white poplin shirts have a loose, masculine fit, but with narrower shoulders and a shorter sleeve length. The shirts come with or without collars, and plain or pleated bib fronts. Dalton has no plans to move deeper into women’s wear, however. “I’m quite adamant the collection will just be shirts, as otherwise [the label] becomes diluted,” said the designer. The items wholesale for 84 pounds, or $140 at current exchange.
