BACON-NYGARD FEUD CONTINUES: The legal battle and mudslinging between Louis Bacon and Peter Nygard won’t be subsiding any time soon.

Bacon, the founder of Moore Capital Management, and Nygard, the chairman and founder of the Canadian company that bears his name, have neighboring properties in the Bahamas and have clashed for more than 10 years. Earlier this week Bacon revised the $50 million defamation suit against Nygard that he filed in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, New York County in January.

Bacon’s updated complaint alleges that he and his family fear for their safety in the Bahamas and can no longer return there. Through his legal team, Nygard countered Thursday that the more recent filing “is a thinly veiled attempt to generate additional publicity on baseless
allegations.”

Nygard, who filed for an extension in January, now has about three more weeks to respond to the latest legal action.
