Catherine Deneuve was difficult to miss in her thick black fur shrug Monday night as Louis Vuitton feted an exhibition tracing its brand history at the Musée Carnavalet in Paris. Deneuve’s next movie, “Potiche,” is set for release later this month. “It’s set in the Seventies, when women were not allowed to say or do too much,” said Deneuve, adding she was rather taken with what she wore in the film, particularly a green suit.
British singer Rita Ora said her debut single, “Uneasy,” will be out in two weeks and her album — on Jay-Z’s Rock Nation label — is set for a January release in the U.S. and U.K. “And after that, we’re going to start taking over the world,” she laughed. Chinese actress Fan Bing Bing said she plays a princess in the movie “Zhaou’s Orphan,” which is directed by Chen Kaige and due to hit silver screens in December. Her most recent role was becoming the face of L’Oréal Paris this summer.
Meanwhile, American actress Jessica Chastain said she would appear in the movie “The Debt” that comes out in December. In it, she plays the same character as Helen Mirren, but at a different stage of life. “We had to have the same voice, so I studied Helen a lot,” said Chastain. “I watched all her films and her interviews on YouTube.”
