BUCKS FIZZ: LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton knows the way to Saint-Tropez — and now boasts its own boutique hotel there, too. Called White 1921, the seasonal eight-room inn on Place des Lices opened Thursday with a garden bar by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte a key attraction.
Operated by LVMH Hotel Management, the hotel also boasts a wine cellar stocked with its galaxy of Champagne brands, including a rare vintage of Moët & Chandon from 1921, considered a superb year for white wines across Europe. The 82-seat bar also serves snacks to go with various Champagnes, such as white truffle popcorn to wash down with Krug.
Open through Oct. 7, the hotel offers rooms from 270 euros, or $340, and suites from 650 euros, or $815 at current exchange rates.
