TAILOR MADE: The trend toward personalized, online-only fashion continues with the launch of Made Eyewear, a unisex optical and sunglass line created by Kevin Hundert, grandson of REM Eyewear founder Gerry Hundert and son of REM chief executive officer Mike Hundert. Customers can select one of eight pre-designed acetate frames (five unisex and three women’s styles) in eight color ways, then choose temple colors. Seven temple patterns are available for both inside and outside, and customers can also choose a logo or custom text up to 25 characters to be laser engraved on the inside or outside temple. Sunglass lenses come in brown, grey or orange mirror and each prescription lens, from progressives to anti-reflectives, is cut to order. To test the frames virtually, customers use their webcam to “try on” frames and turn their heads from side to side to check all angles. Retail prices start at $89 and all eyewear comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
