Madonna’s Daughter Lourdes Headed to University of Michigan

Lourdes “Lola” Leon is starting this summer in UM’s School of Music, Theatre & Dance.

MICHIGAN’S NEWEST WOLVERINE: Lourdes “Lola” Leon, Madonna’s daughter, is hitting the books this summer. In addition to continuing to be involved in Material Girl, the fast-fashion junior line that’s exclusive to Macy’s, Leon is headed to the University of Michigan to become a freshman. Leon is starting this summer in UM’s School of Music, Theatre & Dance. Freshman orientation for UM’s summer term began this week.

Madonna was spotted at the M Den, the campus athletic apparel store, on Tuesday, tweeting, “I think I’ll stop in here.”

Madonna briefly attended UM in the mid-Seventies before pursuing a dance career in New York.

Leon, who graduated from New York’s LaGuardia High School, is involved in the creation of Material Girl, which, as reported, selected Zendaya to front the line for fall. Material Girl is part of the MG Icon joint venture between Madonna and Iconix Brand Group Inc.

Come fall, don’t be surprised if the Material Girl collection has shades of blue.
