FIT FOR A PRINCESS: Marc Jacobs Beauty has named a lipstick shade after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s 9-month-old daughter Princess Charlotte. The young royal will celebrate her first birthday on May 2.

Part of the Le Marc lip crème collection, “Charlotte” is a deep rose-pink shade exclusive to Harrods. The price is 24 pounds, or $34. The beauty brand launched today in London, with Harrods as the exclusive U.K. stockist. The Knightsbridge store said it was the biggest color cosmetics launch in its history.

“We wanted to commemorate this major brand milestone by creating a custom shade of Le Marc lip crème,” said Catherine Gore, global vice president and general manager of Marc Jacobs Beauty, who added that the shade was “inspired by the deepest saturated pink tones of an English rose.”

On Friday, Harrods unveiled three big windows near Door Nine on Brompton Road dedicated exclusively to Marc Jacobs Beauty. It’s the first time that the store has done a color cosmetics takeover of the windows, and customers are invited to walk inside the space and experiment with the new collection.

The windows feature super-sized versions of the products, giving the space a surreal, theater-set feel and ample opportunities for selfies. The windows will remain open for the month of February. “We have never done color cosmetics in our windows, so the Marc Jacobs team has allowed us to make history,” said Mia Collins, Harrods’ head of beauty.

The collection is currently being sold in Harrods’ White Hall, which will be its permanent home. For the launch it’s also present in The Colour Hall, where it will remain for the month of February.

“We have huge expectations for the brand,” said Collins. “There has been so much excitement from so many different territories already and we now want to give our clients the chance to understand and get deeper into the Mr. Jacobs’ universe.”

As part of its embrace of Marc Jacobs, Harrods will also have a two-season exclusive on the new ready-to-wear collection, and be the only U.K. stockist to carry it, aside from Jacobs’ stand-alone stores. The store will also carry some accessories exclusives.
