GOING ONCE: Marianne Boesky will open her Chelsea gallery’s doors June 13 for the Humane Society of New York’s photography auction. The evening’s chairwoman Cornelia Guest is taking on the double duty of caterer. The crowd will get a taste of her vegan hors d’oeuvres culled from recipes in her “Simple Pleasures” book.
Honorary chairs Alexandra Wentworth and George Stephanopoulos will also be in the mix, as will Jade Hobson and Sports Illustrated’s Diane Smith. (The husband-and-wife team adopted their dachshund Daisy from the HSNY.)
Another animal lover, Ali MacGraw, will be honored at the event, which will feature a live auction commandeered by Gabriela Palmieri. There is also an online auction of photographs of VIP portraits, animal shots and landscapes selected by notable photographers like Arthur Elgort, William Wegman, Roxanne Lowitt and Stewart Shining. One of the evening’s top gets will be a black and white photo of Marilyn Monroe from Milton H. Greene’s “Ballerina” series, which were taken in his Lexington Avenue studio in the fall of 1954.
