LONDON LAUNCH: Marie France Van Damme, the Canadian-born, Hong Kong-based luxury resortwear designer, is set to open her label’s first store in London. The 500-square-feet boutique is set to open this fall at 177 Draycott Avenue, near Joseph, Chanel, Stella McCartney and J. Crew in the city’s Brompton Cross area. Van Damme has one store in the International Finance Centre Mall in Hong Kong and another at the Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok, Thailand, that is set to open on July 16. The London boutique will be fitted with materials such as teak, bronze and crocodile leather, and will add to Van Damme’s stockists in London, which include Harrods and Selfridges. Van Damme, who launched her label in 2011, is known for luxurious kaftans, day–to–evening dresses and glamorous swimwear.
