GO WEST: Marni will celebrate the opening of its first store in San Francisco with a cocktail party on Wednesday hosted by W Magazine, as well as art advisor Sabrina Buell and Alison Pincus, founder of online home decor marketplace One Kings Lane.
The 3,500-square-foot boutique, located on Maiden Lane in the heart of the city’s Union Square district, is the brand’s first U.S. store to feature the new concept developed by Marni creative director Consuelo Castiglioni and the label’s interior designer Luz Maria Jaramillo. The concept first debuted in Madrid, followed by Milan.
The San Francisco boutique spans two levels. The first floor, which carries the women’s ready-to-wear and accessories collections, shows a floor made with asymmetric marble tiles, graphic carpets and velvet ottomans. Jewelry is displayed in crystal and steel boxes, while alcoves lined with leather house the shoe range.
A granite and glass staircase connects the first story with the basement, carrying the men’s collections. Here the concrete floor contrasts with the bright tones of the counters and display units.
Marni operates seven stores in the United States, including units in New York, Miami, Costa Mesa and Los Angeles.
