OFF THE BEATEN PATH: Marni celebrated the opening of its new boutique, nestled in a courtyard off of Milan’s Via Montenapoleone, with a cocktail on Monday. “To be discovered,” creative director Consuelo Castiglioni said of the discreet venue.
Gianni Castiglioni, her husband and chief executive officer of the company, said the unit broadcasts their belief in the strength and potential of Milan. A large, round concrete staircase connects the two floors, and several walls and displays are made from recycled wood, painted white or black. Green and black onyx tables, a sage-green rounded sofa, and rugs with geometric patterns designed by Consuelo Castiglioni are standout elements of the store, as well as a large white sculpture of a horse made of metal and covered in PVC created by a group of Colombian women.
For this boutique, Castiglioni created a capsule collection that is timed to be available before the brand’s pre-fall line. Marni’s expanded accessories collection is available on the ground floor. The existing accessories boutique will remain on Via Spiga, while the other brand boutique on that street is now closed.
