SIBLING RIVALRY: Matthew Williamson has unveiled his first diffusion collection, MW Matthew Williamson, a mix of urban grit and vintage nostalgia.

 

“My creative slant is that this line is the younger sister of the main one. It’s more day-based and urban and doesn’t encroach on cocktailwear,” Williamson said. The autumn collection is being sold now and will land on shop floors starting in July. Williamson will screen a short film of the new collection before his runway show on Sunday.

 

The average price point is 250-350 pounds, or $400-$560. There are tough elements such as leather biker jackets and skinny workwear denim pieces as well as soft ones, such as printed tops with frills. The line is produced under license by Mariella Burani Fashion Group.
