HIGH SCHOOL DANCE: Max Mara turned its Miami boutique into a stage earlier this week for the brand’s first-ever, in-store dance performance. Javon Jones, a high-school senior from Detroit who won the inaugural Max Mara Young Visionary Award for the National YoungArts Foundation, danced for 60 guests including YoungArts board member Sarah Arison.

Set to James Blake’s “The Wilhelm Scream,” his contemporary ballet piece titled “Resonance,” which he also choreographed, lasted about 10 minutes.

“It’s about how I feel when I go through emotions that resonate in by body, a whirlwind of what you miss and your current state of being,” said Jones, who teared up when he received his $10,000 award. “This is a testimony that you can be recognized for your heart. I want to tell people that it’s OK to keep discovering who you are.”

Jones performs again at the Max Mara store in Troy, Mich., near his hometown on March 31.
