LET IT BYRNE: Rose Byrne is to receive the 2014 Women in Film Max Mara Face of the Future Award and to attend the Italian brand’s fall-winter show in Milan on Thursday, WWD has learned.
The prize is given annually for outstanding acting achievement and to women who embody style and grace. She is to be honored June 11 at the Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards in Los Angeles.
A native of Australia, Byrne is perhaps best known for her role on the TV series “Damages” and has been nominated for Emmy and Golden Globe awards.
She has also appeared in the films “Bridesmaids,” “Troy” and “The Place Beyond the Pines,” and has a slew of new movies coming soon including “Neighbors” and “Annie.”
Past recipients of the future award have included Hailee Steinfeld, Katie Holmes, Elizabeth Banks and Maria Bello.
Women in Film is a non-profit organization whose mandate is to ensure gender parity for women in the film and media industries.
