SHIFTING DATES: Next January, journalists and buyers might not have to interrupt their holiday season to start their tour of men’s fashion capitals. This week, Florence-based international trade show Pitti Uomo, Italy’s Camera della Moda and Paris’ Fédération Française de la Couture agreed to postpone the dates of their men’s fashion weeks. Four-day Pitti Uomo will open its doors on Jan. 13, while Milan Fashion Week will run Jan. 17 to 20. Paris Fashion Week will follow, from Jan. 21 to 25.
As of now, London Fashion Week dates have not been disclosed. Reached on Thursday, a British Fashion Council spokeswoman said that “Caroline Rush [BFC chief executive officer] will be meeting [Pitti Immagine ceo] Raffaello Napoleone and [Camera della Moda ceo] Jane Reeve next week” in London.
Last January, London kicked off the men’s wear season on Jan. 6, causing a calendar conflict with Pitti Uomo, which opened on Jan. 7.
