MET SIGHTING: Just as the Metropolitan Museum of Art was about to close on Sunday afternoon, Cate Blanchett and Isabelle Huppert were spotted patiently waiting in its lobby. The two actresses are in town for “The Maids” at Lincoln Center, and were likely at the museum for a private tour of “Charles James: Beyond Fashion,” the Costume Institute’s exhibition that ended that day. The museum wouldn’t confirm this due to policy.

On final tally, the exhibition, which opened May 5, was the Costume Institute’s fourth most-attended spring show in the past 25 years with 505,307 visitors — better than “Chanel” in 2005 and last year’s “Punk: Chaos to Couture.”
