Michael Kors to Open Shanghai Flagship

The brand plans to open 15 stores in Greater China by the end of this year.

KORS GOES EAST: Michael Kors will open its largest flagship in China in Shanghai next spring. The 5,750-square-foot boutique will be located in the Jing An Kerry Centre, a mixed-use retail, office and residential development in central Shanghai, company executives said at a press conference in Shanghai. Michael Kors chief executive officer John Idol said the brand plans to open 15 stores by the end of this year in Greater China, and that over the next five to seven years it plans to have 100 stores in the region.

On Friday, Idol, along with financial partners Silas Chou and Lawrence Stroll, will make an appearance in Taiwan to fete the brand’s newly opened store in the Taipei 101 Mall with a runway show.
