ON THE ROAD: The green cocktails and lush plants at the Mongrels in Common’s showcase in contemporary trade fair Premium’s F95 store on Thursday echoed the verdant collection by the designers behind the label, Berlin-based Christine Pluess and Livia Ximénez-Carrillo. It was entitled “Marlene Dietrich on the Road with a Gaucho.”
“We thought about how those two characters would adapt to each other’s styles and take inspiration from the landscape they were traveling through,” explained Pluess. The team also decided to take its show on the road, opting to forgo a defilé for the F95 presentation.
“We wanted our friends and clients to be able to get up close to our collection in the store and touch the clothes,” said Ximénez-Carrillo. “And it’s been fabulous to finally be showing with retailers present, not to mention that Premium was the obvious place for us to have the presentation, since they have supported us since we were just starting out.”
