Today is Mother’s Day in the United Kingdom, causing an outpouring of Instagram and Twitter tributes to moms — not least from the fashion crowd.

Designer Stella McCartney, whose fall show will be held tomorrow morning in Paris, posted a picture of herself as a toddler with her mother Linda. The designer wrote: “Me and my Mum… I miss you! X Stella.”

Victoria Beckham gave a nod to both her and her husband David’s mothers, while son Brooklyn put online a picture of his own mummy and the words: “Happy Mother’s Day mum. You love, protect and inspire me every day. I love you so much X.”

Burberry’s official Instagram account ran a Happy Mother’s Day wish with a picture of a note placed on bouquet, which caused a slight panic among some non-U.K.-based fans, who feared for a moment to have missed the holiday in their own countries.

British model Daisy Lowe posted a picture of her mom Pearl appearing on the cover of a magazine. She wrote: “My beautiful mumma@pearllowe happiest Mother’s Day… Love you the most in the world… Can’t wait to celebrate you allllll day.”

Designer Matthew Williamson ran picture of his mother Maureen smiling on a swing and the note: “Still swinging and still smiling. Best Mum in the world. Happy Mothers Day!”

Amanda Wakeley used American author Dorothy Canfield Fisher’s words — “A mother is not a person to lean on, but a person to make leaning unnecessary” — to accompany a shot of her mom.

Sophia Webster posted a picture of her mother holding her baby and wished all moms a happy Mother’s Day. For her part, Charlotte Tilbury opted for a shot of a smiling Grace Kelly.
