MUSEUM HONOR: Narciso Rodriguez will be this year’s honoree at the El Museo del Barrio gala at Cipriani 42nd Street on May 17. The designer — who is of Cuban heritage — will be celebrated for his artistic achievement and his career, as well as his longtime support of the organization. “El Museo strives to keep Latino art and culture alive and Narciso exemplifies that mission with his dedication to incorporating his heritage into every aspect of his work,” said El Museo del Barrio’s executive director, Margarita Aguilar.
Past gala honorees include Mario Testino, Plácido Domingo and Emilio and Gloria Estefan (who sat front row at Rodriguez’s fall runway show last month). That night, the institution will also pay tribute to philanthropist and El Museo trustee Yaz Hernández and Bacardi USA.
