Narciso Rodriguez, Lais Ribeiro, and Bottletop co-founder Cameron Saul

TOPPING OFF: Narciso Rodriguez is doing his part for the environment. The designer last evening unveiled the latest installment of his partnership with Bottletop — an accessories brand that works to minimize its waste output. The two have collaborated periodically since 2012.

Their latest design, a leather tote bag featuring woven panels of recycled soda can tabs, has been released in a limited run. Ten pieces come with black lacquered tabs, while another 10 include silver pulls. There is also a dove gray and a blue iteration. The style is called the Lais tote — named for model Lais Ribeiro. The style sells for $995.

Speaking about the collaboration at Bottletop’s NoLIta pop-up shop at 199 Mott Street, Rodriguez said: “Sustainability is as important to me as it is to everyone else. I think we can only hope for the best and be positive about the future and be as involved as possible, be as vocal as possible.”
