ART WITH HEART: Works by the likes of Sterling Ruby, Takashi Murakami, Huang Yong Ping and Taryn Simon will go under the hammer at the next edition of Natalia Vodianova’s Love Ball, a black-tie charity gala for 250 people.
Called The Art of Giving, the event is scheduled for July 6 during couture week at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris under the patronage of Bernard Arnault, chairman and chief executive of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. The Russian model and philanthropist had revealed the project to WWD on April 3.
Revealing more details about the event, she said Oliver Barker, chairman of Sotheby’s Europe, would wield the gavel at an auction of works by 15 of today’s top contemporary artists, courtesy of blue-chip galleries.
All funds raised at the charity dinner and the auction will go to Vodianova’s Naked Heart Foundation, which supports children with special needs and constructs playgrounds and play parks in Russia.
The evening also promises musical and dance performances, the latter provided by Laboratory ABC, a Russian agency that unites artists working in traditional media with new audiovisual technologies.
