GOOD SPORT: Natalia Vodianova and her Naked Heart Foundation took part in Paris’ half-marathon on Sunday and raised almost 170,000 euros, or $182,595 at current exchange, for the association’s work with children with special needs in Russia.
“They sometimes say about fashion that ‘you have to suffer for beauty,’ that it requires some sacrifice. I have personal experience of the marathon that is fashion week — in New York, London, then Milan and then Paris,” said Vodianova. “So I deeply admire and am doubly grateful to my friend and colleague Karlie Kloss, because she ran her very first half-marathon in support of the Naked Heart Foundation. Goodness requires sacrifice, too, and I am happy that my friends from the fashion world are sharing this with me, as always. I wonder who will run with us in Moscow for our very first own ‘Running Hearts’ race.”
It is the sixth time Guerlain, the beauty brand for which Vodianova is the face, and the Naked Heart Foundation entered 45 runners in the Paris half-marathon.
The association’s fundraising goal this year was to create five occupational therapy rooms created to provide active sensory activities for children and adults with special needs and learning disabilities — the first of their type in Russia.
