ON A ROLL: Surrounded by fans and colorful stacks of candy and cake balls at Neiman Marcus NorthPark Center in Dallas, Stacey Bendet beamed. “It’s really fun to come here because Neiman Marcus was one of the first stores to buy Alice + Olivia 10 years ago when it was just pants,” the designer said. “And I remember Cheryl [Onodera] being like, ‘Stace, you gotta do some tops for me and some sweaters to go with the pants.” Buyer Cheryl Onodera wasn’t the only Neiman’s exec on hand. Company president and chief executive officer Karen Katz gave Bendet a hug, and specialty retail president Jim Gold extolled her talent. “Stacey is a tour de force,” he affirmed. “She’s got boundless energy and creativity, and you see it in her collection. Every time we visit her showroom it’s remarkable the amount of newness that we see.” Neiman’s carries the sportswear in all doors and will present Alice + Olivia’s debut gown collection in 10 stores. “It’s contemporary formal wear,” Bendet said.
