NEW CATEGORY: Charlotte Ronson is trying her hand at spectacles. The fashion designer, who has no previous experience in the eyewear category, has been tapped by Luxottica and the Council of Fashion Designers of America as the participant for the 2014 Design Series for Vogue Eyewear, joining past designers including Nanette Lepore, Rebecca Minkoff and Monica Botkier. For the first time, the collection will include optical frames as well as sunglasses, inspired by the brand’s global ambassador, Eva Mendes. (Last year, Lepore’s inspiration for her Vogue Eyewear collection was Emma Roberts.)
