NEW FACE: Giorgio Armani said Thursday that Italian fashion label Au jour le jour will present its fall collection with a runway show at the designer’s Milan Theater on Feb. 22. Founded by Mirko Fontana and Diego Marquez in 2010, Au jour le jour is positioned in the contemporary segment of the market and offers wearable pieces decorated with bold, cartoonish prints.
“I like the way in which today’s young designers seek to establish themselves, in using every kind of channel,” said Armani, who last year started a program to support up-and-coming designers, hosting the fashion shows of Andrea Pompilio, followed by Stella Jean and Julian Zigerli. “Au jour le jour is a collection that the two designers Mirko and Diego were able to promote, above all, through social networks. I hope that my support is a good omen.”
