NEW HEAD FOR DIESEL U.S.: Tommaso Brusò, former president and chief executive officer of Furla USA Inc., has been appointed ceo of Diesel USA, effective Aug. 19.
Brusò succeeds Cristiano Quieti, who left Diesel this year to become president and ceo of John Varvatos Enterprises.

Brusò spent five years with Furla following four years as ceo of Fedon America and filling previous roles with Benetton and ER SpA.
“Growing up in Venice, Italy, Diesel is a brand that I have long admired and am truly passionate about,” he said. “Equipped with my business experience in New York and deep understanding of the U.S. market developed here over the last 13 years, I am ready to take the company to the next level.”
Stefano Rosso, co-ceo of OTB SpA, Diesel’s parent, commented, “The United States has always inspired our family and is where denim heritage originates. It is already one of our most important markets, but we believe we will have a lot of opportunity for growth.”
Brusò will report to Rosso and his co-ceo, Marina Tosin, until a new ceo of Diesel global is appointed. That post has been vacant since the April departure of Daniela Riccardi, who was named ceo of Baccarat in May.
