NEW YORK BOUND: British luxury eyewear brand Cutler and Gross will open its first American store in New York in May at 110 Mercer St. More than 4,000 frames dating from 1969 to the present will be housed in a permanent exhibition, while the store will also offer full optometric and prescription services, as well as the latest technologies in optics.
Clients with an penchant for one-off creations will be able to meet with an expert stylist in a private showroom and take advantage of a bespoke service to develop a unique style. The minimal interior was created by designer Mani Mani of Fishtnk Design Factory and inspired by the charm of the city’s Cast Iron District and the New York Arts Movement of the 1960s, paying tribute to the London flagship in Knightsbridge.

To coincide with the launch, the brand will create a New York Style Collection of limited-edition handmade frames designed by New York-based personalities. All profits from the collection will be donated to New York-based charities.
