NY STATE OF MIND: DKNY feted the launch of its arts initiative project in London this week with a Nineties style warehouse party at a former fire station in south London by the Thames. The evening, hosted by Cara Delevingne, featured live performances by Rita Ora and Iggy Azalea, and the venue was filled with guests including Jourdan Dunn, Henry Holland, Dominic Jones and Lulu Kennedy. Set designer Michael Howells refurbished the abandoned fire station with beaming strobe lights, brightly lit LED screens, graffiti and water tower fixtures. Guests danced to hip-hop, sipped cosmopolitans and Champagne and grazed on pizza, hot dogs and pretzels.
The arts initiative project is known as DKNY Artworks and is a platform for artists to reinterpret the DKNY logo. In London, the brand enlisted the British graffiti artist known as Roids to create an abstract 3-D collage of the DKNY logo, which was on display at the party.
