Ohne Titel designers Alexa Adams and Flora Gill were in Tokyo on Friday kicking off their first visit to Japan, which will take them to Kyoto for temples, geisha, tea ceremony and Noh theater. “We’ve been here less than 24 hours and already I love the energy in Tokyo,” said Adams. “I love how people are dressed. I love how individual and interesting they are.”
The two hosted a trunk show and reception party at Ginza boutique Eight Million on Friday evening, showing off their spring 2011 collection to customers and Tokyo fashionistas, who milled about sipping Champagne. Models dressed in their soft yet architectural designs staged a mini fashion show, parading down the stairs and across the store floor.
After two days in Kyoto, Adams and Gill will head back to Tokyo for a few days of sightseeing, shopping, nightlife and great food before returning to New York, where they will dive into their collaboration with Tauba Auerbach for MoMA PS1’s exhibit, “Move!”
