ON SPECS: Fans of the late Yves Saint Laurent’s dark tortoiseshell specs can now get their mitts on their own made-to-measure pair. Along with his two sons, Franck and Steven, the creator of the glasses, Christian Bonnet, who is believed to be one of the world’s last two remaining masters of the rare raw material, has just opened a store in Paris. Situated on the Rue des Petits Champs, a hop away from Palais Royal, the Maison Bonnet boutique specializes in made-to-measure eyewear made from horn, acetate and tortoiseshell from the family’s stock.
KIRA REDUX?: Kira Plastinina’s namesake teenage fashion business, which launched with fanfare in the U.S. last year and shut down seven months later, may be on the comeback trail. Two of the young Russian designer’s Los Angeles stores are to soon relaunch under the name K. Plastinina, executives involved in the deals said. One location is planned for Beverly Center mall and another on Robertson Boulevard. “Yes, they will reopen here,” said Jeff Brown, general manager of the Taubman Co.-owned Beverly Center. The owner of the Robertson Boulevard space, Bonnie Fuller, said the new company is named Pink Square. Neither Brown nor Fuller had dates for the openings. Representatives of the new firm could not be reached for comment. Kira Plastinina’s parent company, Los Angeles-based KP Fashion Co., filed for Chapter 7 liquidation more than six months ago. ON LINE: The first D&G online store will open its virtual doors on June 23. Designed to mirror the edgy spirit of the D&G stores, dandgstore.com will sell men’s and women’s apparel, accessories, beachwear, eyewear, timepieces and costume jewelry. It is powered by Yoox Group and its offerings will be available in 31 countries worldwide. “The online boutique is like a game, a fun and immediate way to shop, without space or time limitations. We are conﬁdent it will get people even closer to D&G’s dynamic universe,” said Stefano Gabbana.

NEW PARTNERS: A fresh collaboration of fashion and art will hit Los Angeles this summer, when David Arquette, Ben Harper and David Bedwell open a pop-up shop for their clothing line Propr along Venice’s hip Abbott Kinney corridor. The trio — an actor, musician and former Original Penguin creative director — teamed up to launch the line of classic casualwear last fall, including T-shirts, men’s jackets, button downs and women’s dresses and pants. Arquette is hand-painting the interior of the pop-up store, which will open in the next two weeks. The Venice pop-up store will be the brand’s first stand-alone location; Propr is now sold at retailers like Fred Segal, Kitson and Scoop. “It’s going to be a supercool, artsy space, I want it to be something special, that the community can really embrace,” Arquette said. Arquette said he will adding his artistic touch to some of the line’s T-shirts using paint. Propr will expand its knitwear collection in the coming months and is considering a foray into the denim market.
REVAMP: Jewelry designer Anna Sheffield has unveiled a new, revamped Web site at annasheffield.com. Upgrades include a new e-commerce component, where guests can shop her Bing Bang, Bespoke and fine jewelry collections, as well as an iPhone App for easy browsing and buying. The site also features design exclusives (one-of-a-kind, limited edition designs or Web-only styles) and a blog. In addition to her own musings, Sheffield plans to invite a whole spate of guests bloggers, such as artist Julia Chiang, model Shelly Zander and photographer Amanda Merten.
